Simple Sauerkraut & Sausage

You need:

  • 1 can / bag / jar of sauerkraut (I like Claussen; use two if you are using the soup-sized cans)
  • 5-6 sausage links
  • Half a pound of bacon
  • A few slices / chunks of ham
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 t Celery seeds
  • A large, heavy pan with high sides and a lid

Preparation:

  • Cook the bacon in the pan, remove
  • Cook the ham in the bacon grease, remove
  • Cook the sausage in the ham and bacon drippings for a few minutes until the sides are browned
  • Drain the sauerkraut and put everything back into the pan
  • Add the spices and seasonings
  • Simmer for about 30 minutes

Enjoy! =)
