Day 220 (M, 110808) — D’oh!; Max Capacity Training Day 25

Woops.  I almost forgot to post something today.  That would have broken my streak of daily postings at 219.

Well screw that!  Here I am and I ain’t gonna leave!

Max Capacity Training.  Today marks my return to working out using Max Capacity Training, restarting on Day 25.  Using a 50-10 protocol, exercises for today are:

  1. High Knee Jumps: 25
  2. Wall Hand Walkouts: 3 38 seconds
  3. 1 Leg Hip Bridge: 25
  4. Invisible Chair: 42

As I have mentioned before, I’m a bit worried about how the high knee jumps will work since my ankle is still a bit weak.  I’ll have to be careful and make sure I don’t re-injure myself.

Also, the wall hand walkouts are going to suck big blocky ones.  But hey, you only live once and I can put myself through lots of kinds of hell if it’s only temporary.

I’ll post my results and review here as soon as I finish sometime this afternoon.

Holy crap that was hard. I think this workout hits the legs even harder than workout 3 (Squat-Touch-Reach, Reverse Lunge, Drop Squat, Plank).

As I expected, the Wall Hand Walkouts killed me.  After the first round of trying to walk in and out, I switched to holding it as a vertical plank (the recommend alternative) and still had a helluva time with it.

All three other exercises really hit the quads, glutes, and hamstrings hard.  By the end, I was sweating bullets and gasping for breath.

Big tip folks: do not take four and a half weeks off in the middle of your MCT workouts if you can help it.*

My (healing) ankle injury didn’t bother me today but being out of practice working hard for 16 minutes straight just about killed me.

Wednesday will be the same exercises with a Tabata protocol and Friday will be a Time Attack protocol.
