Today is MCT workout Day 5.  Eight rounds of Tabata-timed exercises; lowest round scored.

That was definitely tough . . . but not as bad as Monday.  I think it is because the exercises are not so hard on the legs.  I was quite disappointed in my push up score, however.  Yes, I was struggling and my form was shot but I thought I could at least hit 4 or 5 for my lowest.

I guess I’ll just have to do better next time…..

  • Myth #5: You will burn more fat if you exercise longer at a lower intensity.
  • Myth #6: No pain, no gain!

#6 is a theme I’ve talked about several times: hurting yourself is stupid and sets you back more than any possible gains you would reap from pushing yourself when your body has reason to say, “No!”

Procrastination and malingering are tendencies to fight against . . . but listening to your body is crucial.

Today will be a LG fasting day. I stopped eating last night about 8.  So I’ll start up again today at noon.

Breakfast @ 6:00 AM:  nothing

Lunch @ 12 PM: half a Freebirds steak burrito AGG, Cissus

Dinner @ 7 PM: planned (moderate) Free Meal (with Cissus and other Damage Control hacks) — Mega Double Cheeseburger from Burger Extreme (no bun), some fries, some cheesy breadsticks from Pizza Hut, a bit of ice cream, some cake, some SF jello with a bit of Redi-Whip.

Other food throughout the day: coffee, water, Diet Coke, Monster Zero

  1. Wow, Burger Extreme looks pretty good. How does it compare to 5 Guys? I’ve hit that the last two Free days in a row. Those fries can’t be beat! (Unless it’s by Wing Stop’s fries.)

    • Burger Extreme is the best burger I’ve ever had. A Mooyah Triple Story burger with all the fixins comes in a close second, but the Burger Extreme offerings are both bigger and tastier than Mooyah, and Mooyah is better than Five Guys. I haven’t had an In and Out burger yet, but I imagine it’s pretty close to Five Guys and Mooyah.

      If you are ever in the Dallas area and can make it out to Rowlett, do yourself a favor and stop in at Burger Extreme. The Double Mega Extreme Cheeseburger — 1 lb. of Angus beef topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, American and Provolone cheeses, mayonnaise, ketchup, hickory sauce, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and bacon — simply cannot be beat. =)

      To make a low carb version, ditch the bun, ketchup, and hickory sauce. To make a slow carb version, drop the cheese as well, but at that point your losing too much of what makes the burger special. Better to wait for a Free Day and have the plain old low carb version. Yummy!

  2. I agree with all those myths although the lower intensity myth is a bit more complicated than that as I blogged about a while ago.

    I join spark people after you mentioned it a while ago but the site gives me a seizure fro the ads and the layout so I don’t use it and miss any good info.
